Kelly Sam draws on 13 years of experience coordinating public affairs activities and public relations projects for a wide range of clients.

For many years, Kelly served as newspaper editor for a tribal government client.  Her responsibilities included managing story lists, conducting interviews, designing the layout, and coordinating the paper’s printing and mailing.  She also maintained a corresponding website with 10,000 unique visitors each month and supported high-traffic social media sites.

Kelly also helps clients build grassroots support, educate and engage those supporters, and maintain long-term relationships with them.  Her grassroots experience has been important in both passing and defeating legislation at the Minnesota Capitol.

In addition, Kelly’s many years of working with American Indian organizations has helped enhance Goff Public’s tribal practice.  She has coordinated grassroots organizing efforts for the Minnesota Indian Gaming Association, trained tribal officials on working effectively with the media, and helped clients, including the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe Public Health Department, develop compelling videos.

Kelly’s versatility also includes managing large projects and coordinating the design of engaging Prezis, books, brochures, displays, and other communications materials for Blue Cross Blue Shield, the Center for Policy Studies, DISCUS, Polaris Industries, and other clients.  Our lobbying team also relies on her for legislative support.

A native of Isle, Minnesota, Kelly graduated from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota with a bachelor’s degree in marketing.  In her spare time, Kelly enjoys spending time with her family (particularly her son Kellen), traveling, bowling, and baking.
