Thanks for always thinking of ways to get the most value for our media relations dollar. Talking about Toys for Tots on KARE 11 was a definite highlight!

Laura helps develop a variety of communications materials for clients using her research, writing and design capabilities. As a young professional, Laura brings a fresh perspective to the social media sphere by continually exploring and evaluating the latest social media tools and trends to determine which tools will be most advantageous to our clients.
Laura uses her social media skills to assist with research for our clients. Whether it is finding statistics or history to support a news release or detailed fact sheet, Laura is able to quickly fill in the missing pieces of information at a moment’s notice. Using her background in design, Laura led a Goff Public effort in improving the way we share information through presentations by becoming the resident Prezi expert. Laura primarily assists with writing, research, and social media efforts for the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe, Flint Hills Resources, Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, and the Financial Planners Association.
Before joining Goff Public, Laura interned with WCCO Television and the University of Minnesota’s Academic Health Center. At WCCO, Laura learned about the day-to-day operations of a newsroom while assisting with community relations initiatives such as giving station tours to local community groups. As the Academic Health Center’s media relations and new media intern, Laura used her newsroom experience to help develop website content, write and distribute news releases and media advisories, generate media lists, monitor news coverage, and escort news crews on campus for interviews.
In May 2011, Laura graduated from the University of Minnesota’s School of Journalism and Mass Communication with a bachelor’s degree in strategic communication and a minor in Spanish. During her time at the U of M, Laura honed her communications skills while cheering on her favorite sports team by serving as communications chair for the Golden Gopher basketball student board. In this role, she was responsible for developing and managing the content, design and circulation of the Gopher Gazette, a student program distributed at each home game.
In her free time, Laura likes to channel her inner creativity by making jewelry and baking delicious treats for the office. She also enjoys following Gopher sports, practicing yoga, and visiting her family’s farm.
