The MinnCan Project – a 304-mile pipeline project to deliver Canadian crude oil to Twin Cities refineries – was an expansion of the Minnesota Pipe Line system, which is operated by Koch Pipeline Company.
The vastness of the MinnCan Project required full-service public relations/public affairs assistance to communicate with 1,100 landowners in 13 Minnesota counties; federal, state and local officials who represented those areas; and media outlets all across the state.
With Goff Public’s help, the MinnCan Project secured the necessary approvals and was completed in 2008. Communications efforts in the permitting and construction phases laid a positive foundation for strong, long-term relationships with communities.
