Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe
The Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe is a federally recognized tribe in East Central Minnesota. The tribe has more than 4,300 members for whom it provides a variety of programs and services. The Band owns Grand Casino Mille Lacs and Grand Casino Hinckley and several other businesses.
The Band’s neighbors, state leaders, and a majority of Minnesotans in general knew little about the Band and American Indians. The Band wanted to help its members put the poverty so many of them had known behind them, but Band members didn’t know how to access all of the programs, services and opportunities available to them.
Exceptional results
With Goff Public’s help, neighbors of the Mille Lacs Band, local and state officials, and the general public have a higher level of understanding of the Band and the issues that relate to American Indians. While more progress needs to be made, our education efforts have helped build goodwill toward the Band, its businesses, and its priorities.
In addition, the Band has earned a national reputation for strong leadership, successful communications, and long-term investments in its community.
Band members have resources they can turn to that help explain the Band’s programs, services and key issues. This has enabled Band members to make strides in education, health care, and other areas that benefit the Band as a whole.
